NEWTON, MA (04/03/2013)(readMedia)-- Mount Ida College's Longfellow Preschool is pleased to announce its 18th Annual Children's Art Show and Lecture on Monday, April 8, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chamberlayne Design Gallery. The annual art show will celebrate the creativity and self-expression of children from three to five years old in the Longfellow Preschool program.

Following the art show, Abby Rischin, Ph.D., founder of Step Into Art, Inc and award-winning teacher, will lecture on "Innovative Approaches to Art Education and the World of Early Childhood," inviting the audience to "step into art" during her workshop-style lecture at 6:00 p.m. The lecture is free to the Mount Ida community, including students, faculty and staff. Members of the public can attend the event for a cost of $25 and are eligible to receive professional development points.

About the Annual Longfellow Preschool Art Show

Each year, the Longfellow Preschool at Mount Ida College exhibits an art show of its young three to five year old students. This year's exhibit celebrates the innate creativity and self-expression of our young children. The work displayed represents some of the many ways in which a child communicates.
