Mountain Top's James M. Hollands Named Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at University of the Sciences

PHILADELPHIA, PA (10/01/2013)(readMedia)-- James M. Hollands, PharmD, has been named associate professor of clinical pharmacy at University of the Sciences.

Dr. Hollands' responsibilities in the University's Philadelphia College of Pharmacy will include teaching in pharmacy and therapeutics, and practice labs and case studies. He will also teach several pharmacology lectures at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and maintains a clinical care practice site in the intensive care units at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J.

Prior to joining USciences, Dr. Hollands was the clinical pharmacist at Barnes Jewish Hospital (St. Louis, Mo.) for the cardiac intensive care unit and cardiac procedure center, and he was the residency program director for the PGY2 critical care residency from 2008-13. His research interests include anticoagulation, antiplatelet therapy, medication dosing in obesity, acute coronary syndromes, advanced cardiac life support, shock, and hemodynamics.

Dr. Hollands earned his PharmD with a minor in psychology from Wilkes University, and he pursued his post-graduate training at Barnes Jewish Hospital. He is an active member of American College of Clinical Pharmacy, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and Society of Critical Care Medicine, as well as numerous regional organizations. He is also a board certified pharmacotherapy specialist with added qualifications in cardiology.

Originally from Mountain Top, Pa., Dr. Hollands currently resides in Philadelphia.
