BATAVIA, NY (12/19/2014)(readMedia)-- Make plans now for an exciting season of performance events this spring at the Genesee Center for the Arts at Genesee Community College. The lineup includes a concert by Pittsburgh-based Cello Fury. A snowstorm forced the dynamic cello rock powerhouse to cancel its originally scheduled show in November. It's been rescheduled for February 5, 2015.

The spring season kicks off Friday, January 30, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. with a performance by Ithacappella. Formerly known as the Ithaca College Men's Chorus, the group was founded in 1996 by four men with a love for singing and a passion for performing. Since its inception, the group has grown from its choral roots to become one of the premier male collegiate a cappella groups in the world. Tickets to see Ithacappella are $8. GCC alumni receive a $2 discount on full price tickets when they show their alumni card. Seniors (55+) and GCC faculty/staff tickets are $5; GCC students with ID pay $3.

On Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Cello Fury brings its unique style to the Stuart Steiner Theatre. Cello Fury features three cellists and a drummer who combine the emotive and symphonic sounds of the cello with driving rock beats, creating a cinematic, progressive rock vibe. Venturing past classical expectations, cellists Simon Cummings, Ben Muñoz, and Nicole Myers along with drummer David Throckmorton have performed at wide ranging venues for diverse audiences and have collaborated with artists across genres from dance to theatre. Don't miss these true originals. Tickets to see Cello Fury are $8. GCC alumni receive a $2 discount on full price tickets when they show their alumni card.
