NEMCC Phi Theta Kappa welcomes over 200 into prestigious honor society

Northeast Mississippi Community College's Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society welcomed 215 students into the international honor society during its Spring 2024 induction on Tuesday, February 20.

To be eligible for membership in the Northeast Iota Zeta chapter, a student must have completed at least 12 hours of coursework with a cumulative 3.25 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

Included in the 215 students welcomed into the organization during the Iota Zeta chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society's induction were representatives from three states.

Two hundred and four (204) inductees hail from Mississippi while six come from Alabama and five call Tennessee home.

One hundred and seventy-three (173) of the 215 to join the organization hail Northeast's five-county service area of Alcorn, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo and Union.

Inductees represented 50 different cities, towns and communities throughout the southeastern United States and have expressed interest in majoring in accounting, agriculture, architecture, art, biology, business, civil engineering, communications, construction, criminal justice, dental hygiene, education, electrical engineering, English, health sciences, law, mechanical engineering, medicine, medical technology, management, nursing, pharmacology, political sciences, psychology, radiologic technology, sociology, theatre, veterinary medicine and other areas of concentration.
