NEW YORK REPUBLICANS ARE BACK
Chairman Mondello Statement on the 2007 Elections
ALBANY, NY (11/07/2007)(readMedia)-- While the results are still coming in, it is clear that New York’s Republican Party has come a long way in the past twelve months. With tremendous victories for Republicans in the Erie, Onondaga, Oneida and Dutchess County Executive races and close races in other localities, including the Nassau County Legislature, it is clear the 2007 elections are a positive turning point in our efforts to rebuild and revitalize the Republican Party across New York State.
Republicans are seeing very positive feedback from the voters across the state, because we are running quality candidates who are listening to the people and fighting for the things they need—tax relief, job creation, commonsense criminal justice measures and world-class education and health care systems to maintain our quality of life.
This year’s elections are an embrace of Republican candidates and ideals.
The people of New York today made their voices heard and supported Republicans, because they need solutions to their problems. They supported Republicans because our candidates presented the ideas and the vision needed to put New York back on the right track.
The election of 2007 is the first step in New York’s Republican renaissance, but we will not stop here. The Republicans elected tonight will join others already in office to work hard and deliver the real results people deserve. Those efforts will lead to an even more successful year for New Yorkers, and Republicans, in 2008.
