NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION'S NEW SECTION CHAIRS TAKE OFFICE DURING 2017 ANNUAL MEETING

ALBANY, NY (02/02/2017) (readMedia)-- Six section chairs of the New York State Bar Association assumed office during the Association's Annual Meeting Jan. 23–28. They are:

Michael Weiner, Antitrust Law Section

Weiner is co-leader of Dechert's Antitrust/Competition Practice Group (New York City), which provides strategic advice, resolves government investigations and effectively litigates for clients with antitrust issues.

Weiner has degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University Law Center.

Jana Springer Behe, Corporate Counsel Section

Behe is director of contracts and general counsel for the New York State Technology Enterprise Corporation (Albany), a not-for-profit technology consulting company.

Behe received her undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Rochester and her juris doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in New York and Pennsylvania.

Michael Farber, Tax Section

Farber of Davis Polk & Wardwell (New York City) regularly advises major investment banks, financial institutions and other clients in connection with their financial instruments, derivatives and capital markets activities.

Farber received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and his law degree from George Washington University Law School.

Elizabeth A. Fitzpatrick, Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section

Fitzpatrick is general counsel for Island International Companies (Long Island). There she provides counsel in areas including the preparation, review and negotiation of contracts and other agreements.

She is a graduate of St. John's University School of Law and Pennsylvania State University.

Noreen DeWire Grimmick, Trial Lawyers Section

Grimmick, of Hodgson Russ (Saratoga) is a seasoned litigator with over 20 years of experience in state and federal courts. She has defended clients in cases ranging from medical malpractice to products liability and employment discrimination cases.

Grimmick received her undergraduate degree from Siena College and her law degree at Albany Law School. She also has an M.B.A. from Union College's Graduate Management Institute.

Sharon L. Wick, Trusts and Estates Law Section

Wick, a partner at Phillips Lytle (Buffalo), is the firm's Family Wealth Planning Practice Group Leader. Wick handles trust and estate administration, estate planning, estate and gift taxation and elder law.

Wick is a graduate of Cornell University and the State University of New York at Buffalo Law School.

The 72,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
