NEW YORK STATE BAR ASSOCIATION SPONSORS FREE PROGRAMS ON HEALTH CARE DECISION MAKING
ALBANY, NY (04/13/2016)(readMedia)-- The public can learn about the importance of signing advance directives about future health care and legal matters at "Your Decisions Matter" programs in various locations across the state between April and August.
The free programs are sponsored by the New York State Bar Association.
Volunteer attorneys will explain topics that include: why you need a will; differences between power of attorney, living will and health care proxy documents; do-not-resuscitate orders; organ donations; guardianship issues; and probate.
The "Your Decisions Matter"programs are relevant for individuals of all ages.

The Elder Law and Special Needs Section of the New York State Bar Association is organizing the programs to mark the 2016 Mitchell Rabbino National Health Care Decision Day.
The late Mitchell Rabbino was an elder law attorney from Ulster County, who was an active member of the State Bar Association's Elder Law Section.
The 74,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
