NY AG Candidate Zephyr Teachout on SCOTUS Hearing Arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization

NEW YORK, NY (12/01/2021) (readMedia)-- The Supreme Court today will hear arguments to overturn Roe and Casey, which would effectively ban abortion in much of the United States if they side with the State of Mississippi's argument in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization.

"Reproductive health and privacy is a constitutional right that has shaped the lives of millions of women, including mine. I've relied on Planned Parenthood's services my entire adult life, and I became a mother at 47 because of the choices I was able to make about my own body. The right to abortion is a basic tenant of equality, a right that every woman deserves. And right now, the Supreme Court might deny that right to millions of women, and it's women of color who will feel it the most. Families must have access to affordable reproductive healthcare, reliable childcare and paid family leave. As Attorney General, I will be a warrior in the fight for reproductive freedom: all Americans must have the right to self-determination," said Zephyr Teachout.
