NYISO Announces Promotions in Market Design and Market Mitigation Departments
RENSSELAER, NY (11/03/2023) (readMedia)-- The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) announced today that Shaun Johnson has been promoted to the role of Director of Market Design and Joshua Boles has been promoted to serve as the new Director of Market Mitigation and Analysis.
Shaun Johnson joined the NYISO in 2003 in the Market Mitigation and Analysis Team. He previously held several roles including Price Validation Analyst, Market Product Specialist, and Market Design Product Manager. Most recently, Mr. Johnson served as the Director of Market Mitigation and Analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York at Albany.
"Shaun's wealth and depth of market expertise will continue to be critical to the NYISO as we enhance our markets and transition to more renewable resources," said Emilie Nelson, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "Market design is critical to the innovation and entry of new generation resources to support the grid of the future. I look forward to working with Shaun in his new role."
Effective November 1, Joshua Boles will serve as Director of Market Mitigation and Analysis. Mr. Boles joined the NYISO in 2005 as an Associate Analyst in the Market Mitigation and Analysis Team. He previously served as NYISO's Senior Manager of Installed Capacity Market Operations.
Mr. Boles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Arts in Applied Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Mr. Boles also earned an advanced certificate in Financial Economics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
