NYISO Appoints Steve Doyon to Board of Directors

RENSSELAER, NY (04/15/2025) (readMedia)-- The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) has announced the selection of Steve Doyon to its Board of Directors, effective April 15, 2025.

A New Yorker, Mr. Doyon has 39 years of experience in the energy sector serving most recently as President and CEO of Onward Energy, an independent power producer based in Denver, Colorado. In that role, he led the company's management and operation of a 6.2-gigawatt portfolio of wind, solar, and gas-fired generation units. He previously served in various leadership roles with Novatus Energy, Terra-Gen Power Operating Co., AES Corporation, DTE Energy, and Cogentrix Energy.

"I'm very pleased to have Steve join the NYISO's Board of Directors. His extensive expertise in generation, energy storage, and transmission projects will be a great asset to our ongoing work to support future reliability and investment in the grid," said Board Chairman Joseph Oates.

The selection of Mr. Doyon is the result of the NYISO's stakeholder process in which representatives from each market sector work to conduct a national search and recommend potential directors to the Board. The NYISO Board of Directors is an independent body consisting of ten members with significant collective experience in the energy sector.

Mr. Doyon holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida and an MBA from Duke University.
