NYISO Names Daniel C. Hill to Board of Directors

RENSSELAER, NY (03/26/2013)(readMedia)-- The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) announced today the unanimous selection of Daniel C. Hill to its Board of Directors, effective April 2013.

The selection of Mr. Hill was the result of the NYISO's stakeholder process in which representatives from each market sector engaged in the shared governance of the NYISO conducted a nationwide search and recommended potential directors to the board.

The NYISO board is a diverse body comprised of members with backgrounds in the electric power industry, finance, academics, technology, communications and the law. The board is required by the NYISO's federally approved tariffs to be independent.

"Dan Hill brings a valuable combination of information technology expertise and industry experience to the NYISO Board of Directors. We expect that his talents and background will contribute significantly as we work to develop a smarter grid for New York state," said Bob Hiney, chairman of the board.

Dan Hill is the former senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO) of Exelon Corporation, where he managed all aspects of the company's information technology and telecommunications functions. At Exelon, Mr. Hill was engaged in developing Advanced Metering Infrastructure and related smart grid technology. He retired from Exelon in March 2012.

Mr. Hill worked in various technology and management positions at Commonwealth Edison Company, a predecessor to Exelon, from 1983 to 2000. In 2007, he was named one of Computerworld's Premier 100 IT Leaders.

The vacancy on the board was created by the departure of Karen Antion, whose term will end following the April meeting. Ms. Antion joined the NYISO Board in 1998 as one of its founding members and served as board chair from April 2006 to April 2011. Prior to serving as chair, Ms. Antion served as vice chair and also served with distinction as chair of the board's Governance Committee, Information Technology Committee and Business Issues Committee.
