An independent review of the NYISO's first decade by Dr. Susan Tierney of The Analysis Group stated, "In many respects, the NYISO stands as a model of a well-functioning electric market that relies extensively on competitive markets to provide benefits to the state's electricity consumers."

"The NYISO takes great pride in administering a comprehensive and efficient set of markets and in the daily management and operation of New York's bulk electric system," said NYISO President and CEO Stephen G. Whitley.
