NYSRPA asks if legislators are still proud of their SAFE Act votes
ALBANY, NY (10/30/2013)(readMedia)-- Now that another firearms company is moving out of the state, the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association would like to know if Assemblymen Joseph Morelle, David Gantt and Harry Bronson along with State Senator Ted O'Brien are still proud of their votes in favor of the so-called SAFE Act.
Citing an atmosphere unfriendly to 2nd Amendment civil rights, American Tactical Imports is relocating their business out of Rochester to Dorchester County, South Carolina where they will invest $2.7 million dollars in new facilities. With the move will go more than 100 good paying jobs. This is a direct result of the votes cast by these legislators.
Since the SAFE Act was deliberately rammed though the legislature as quickly as possible so as not to allow time for the public to comment on it, NYSRPA wonders if any of these legislators took a moment to consider the ramifications of their actions? Given this revelation comes on the heels of last week's announcement that the background check requirement for ammunition purchases is being suspended, NYSRPA's guess would be no, they didn't.
