Nagle Named Co-Academic Female Athlete of the Year

BATAVIA, NY (06/25/2014)(readMedia)-- Michelle Nagle (Randolph, NY), a two-year member of the Genesee Community College volleyball team, was recently named the 2013-2014 Co-Academic Female Athlete of the Year, presented by the Western New York Athletic Conference (WNYAC).

Nagle earned 77 credits at GCC and achieved a grade point average of 3.81. She was a captain and two-year starter for the GCC volleyball team and was named the Division II Region III and WNYAC Player of the Year for the 2013 season. She tallied 472 kills and accounted for and average of over four points per sets, appearing in all 43 matches for GCC last fall. She was also named to the WNYAC tournament and Region III tournament All-Tournament teams.

Gabrielle Damin of Erie Community College (bowling) was the other recipient of the award.

Genesee Community College athletics program endeavors to provide a quality and competitive intercollegiate athletics program consistent with the National Junior Collegiate Athletics Association (NJCAA) philosophy and the overall educational mission of Genesee Community College. Participation in collegiate athletics should be an extension of the total educational experience for the student athlete.
