Malta Vets and Guard to set up information displays on Thursday

MALTA, NY (09/08/2010)(readMedia)-- New York National Guard personnel will join with members of the Malta Veterans Committee to set up information displays in the Malta Town Hall on Thursday afternoon. Guard members will participate in the Veterans Parade on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. and provide static displays including a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter, humvee and more as part of Patriot Day festivities that follow the parade.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Members of the New York National Guard will begin setting up information displays inside the Malta Town Hall on Thursday afternoon. The displays will consist of photos of service at the World Trade Center in 2001 and other emergencies and deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in recent years, with special panels dedicated to training and mentoring Afghan security forces and delivering humanitarian support. Computer slide shows and video of operations in Afghanistan will also be included. News organizations are welcome to cover the set up and interview the participants about Saturday's commemorations in Malta.
