Nationally Acclaimed Speaker, Author, Leader to Address GCC Graduates at 2016 Commencement

48th Annual Graduation Ceremony Scheduled Sunday, May 22, 2016

BATAVIA, NY (05/18/2016)(readMedia)-- Joshua Fredenburg is a nationally acclaimed speaker, media commentator, leadership/ diversity consultant, relationship expert and author of five books. He has served as a keynote speaker for different lectures, conference retreats, and trainings at various colleges and this spring he will address Genesee Community College's 2016 graduates at the 48th annual commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22, 2016. The program begins at 1 p.m. in the Anthony T. Zambito Gymnasium on the Batavia campus.

Fredenburg is a dynamic speaker who is known for delivering an inspirational message with expert advice that leads to immediate, life changing and transformational results. His message has been delivered at various types of events in four different states.

In addition to a highly successful speaking career, Joshua is also the president and founder of the Circle of Change Leadership Conference and World Leaders Institute. The Circle of Change Leadership Conference is an award winning leadership development program that was not only recognized by the NASPA (Student Affair Professionals in Higher Education) Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community as the "Top Student Leadership Development Program in 2015," but it's also an incredible conference that prepares student leaders for career leadership success in the 21st Century. It also connects these students with executives from companies such as Pepsi, Columbia Pictures, Hewlett Packard, CNN, UPS, MTV, Mattel, Starbucks, VH-1, Verizon Wireless, NBC Universal, IBM, Warner Brothers, Chipotle, Disney and Fox to name a few.

Fredenburg serves as a member of the Board of Directors at California State University, Long Beach and has received an award from the Young Professional Urban League of Los Angeles for his work with college students. He has been featured as a television expert on numerous local and national talk shots to talk about leadership, diversity, relationships and various political/social issues.

Most importantly, Joshua is a proud father of his daughter and has a passionate heart to empower emerging as well as seasoned leaders for personal, career and leadership success instilling qualities such as humility, love, integrity, excellence and exceptional character.

This year, GCC anticipates recognizing 869 students at commencement, including those completing programs of study in August 2015, January 2016, May 2016 and the anticipated graduates in August 2016. Approximately 220 graduates with their families will be participating in May 22 ceremony.

While the event is open to the public, seats in the gymnasium are reserved for family and friends of graduates. The ceremony will be streamed live on monitors across the Batavia campus and also around the globe. Immediately following commencement, a reception with punch and light refreshments will be hosted in the Forum for all guests and graduates.
