Panel, guest speakers discuss overcoming conflict to focus on the environment Sept. 27

ELIZABETHTOWN, PA (09/19/2014)(readMedia)-- Is it possible for Atheists, Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, Jains, Sikhs and adherents of all diverse religious traditions to overcome various conflicts and address pressing global issues? Or is humanity doomed to collective suicide, killing each other in the name of our differences while failing to address the ways in which we are destroying our environment?

At 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, Dr. Jeffery Long, professor of religion and Asian studies at Elizabethtown College; Dr. John Teske, professor of psychology; and other Elizabethtown College faculty and student panelists, plus guest speakers from New Delhi, India and Florida International University discuss "Navigating Worldviews: Can Diverse Religions and Modern Science Save Our Endangered Planet?"

The free event is held in the Susquehanna Room in the College's Myer Hall.
