Nazareth Celebrates National Award at Discovery Charter School with Congresswoman Louise Slaughter

ROCHESTER, NY (04/29/2013)(readMedia)-- Congresswoman Louise Slaughter joins Nazareth President Daan Braveman as the college celebrates its national recognition as a Presidential Awardee on the 2013 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll while honoring the college's community partners with an event at Discovery Charter School.

Nazareth was only one in five schools out of over 1,000 named Presidential Awardee, the highest distinction a college or university can receive at a federal level. Honored specifically for their commitment to early childhood education, Nazareth will celebrate with the teachers and students of Discovery Charter School, a newly opened K-2 public school that focuses on active learning and hands-on education. Congresswoman Slaughter and President Braveman will both speak at the recognition ceremony.
