Nazareth College Celebrates 89th Commencement at Blue Cross Arena, Sunday, May 8

Hearst Television executive John Drain speaks to graduates

ROCHESTER, NY (05/03/2016)(readMedia)-- Nazareth College will celebrate its 89th annual Commencement at the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester on Sunday, May 8, with an address from John Drain, senior vice president of finance at Hearst Television. Drain, a Nazareth alumnus, will deliver the address to the Class of 2016 in a joint ceremony with both undergraduate and graduate students receiving their degrees. Nazareth has 500 students earning bachelor's degrees, 373 earning master's degrees and 54 students earning doctorates in Physical Therapy. Drain, an alumnus of Nazareth College, graduated in 1983 with his bachelor's in accounting. He received his master's at Pace University, in which he is also a graduate of the Center for Creative Leadership executive leadership program. Currently, Drain serves as a member on the board of trustees at the Nazareth College.

Drain began his career at Coopers & Lybrand as a certified public accountant. Prior to his position at Hearst Television, Inc., Drain was the senior vice president of finance and administration in 2002 for Comcast Spotlight, an advertising sales division of Comcast Cable Corporation. Within his position at Spotlight, Drain led all financial, human resource, and legal operations in addition to gaining extensive media and broadcast experience while working with: USA.Net, Sporting News Radio Network, New World Television, and Hughes Broadcasting Partners.
