New IMC Program Designed in Collaboration with Industry Leaders

ROCHESTER, NY (05/20/2014)(readMedia)-- In response to a demand for marketing professionals with the skills to be successful in today's multi-channeled, media rich marketplace, Nazareth College's School of Management is introducing a master of science in integrated marketing communications (IMC) in fall 2014. Nazareth College has partnered with a team of national and regional experts connected to emerging needs in the marketing communications industry to create, support, and continuously evaluate the College's newest program. The master's in IMC program is the only one of its kind in the greater Rochester region and one of approximately 120 graduate programs in marketing communications offered in the U.S. Interested students should contact Program Director Mark Weber at 585-831-2395 or mweber9@naz.edu, or visit go.naz.edu/gradadmissions. Applications for fall are being accepted through August 15.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, marketing jobs are among the fastest growing careers in the nation with an estimated 13 percent of the U.S. economy impacted by marketing and sales-related jobs.

"This new program is built for the real world," said Bill Murtha, President and CEO of Roberts Communications and an IMC advisory board member. "Vetted by some of the smartest industry pros in the region, it is loaded with the right content and strategies graduates will need to meet the business realities of today and tomorrow."

"The marketing field is constantly evolving," said Dean of the School of Management Gerard Zappia. "Employers today seek professionals who can make informed and effective choices. Nazareth College, together with the IMC advisory board, designed a program with a focus on emergent media and critical analysis to develop professionals with the skills to make intelligent use of the diverse tools and channels available for marketing communications today."

This new program is ideal for marketing professionals seeking to accelerate their careers with an advanced credential; individuals working in sales, management, or other fields seeking a career change into marketing; and high achieving recent college graduates in fields such as communications or business who seek to further their marketing expertise.
