Nazareth College Theatre and Dance Department presents annual Movement and Dance Weekend March 18-20

ROCHESTER, NY (03/09/2016)(readMedia)-- The Nazareth College Theatre and Dance Department will host its fourth annual MAD (Movement and Dance) Weekend at Nazareth College Friday, March 18–Sunday March 20, 2016, featuring more than 30 events and dance/movement technique master classes in a variety of styles, plus two professionally curated concerts.

The weekend's classes are open to dancers, actors, and movers of all skill levels (ages 15+). Classes in contemporary ballet, hip hop, street jazz, musical theatre, tap, Afro-Caribbean, choreography, improvisation, and more will be taught guest artists, including Bryn Cohn + Artists, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, Kris Ashley, and Cameron McKinney. Classes are $5 per class or six classes for $25.

MAD Weekend concerts consist of the MAD Artists Showcase: 8 p.m., Saturday, March 19, Studio Theatre A48; and The Displaced: 7 p.m., Sunday, March 20, Studio Theatre A48 (co-sponsored by the Nazareth College Women and Gender Studies Department). General admission/limited seating concert tickets are $10 each.

Tickets for the classes and concerts may be purchased beginning at 8:30 a.m. Friday March 18 and throughout the weekend at the registration table located in the lower lobby of the Nazareth College Arts Center. Cash only please.
