Nazareth College, WXXI and Little Theatre Team Up for 2014 Teen Film Festival, August 6

ROCHESTER, NY (07/17/2014)(readMedia)-- Teen filmmakers in the Rochester region and throughout the United States are being recognized for their filmmaking skills at this summer's 2014 Rochester Teen Film Festival.

WHO:

A partnership between Nazareth College, the WXXI Public Broadcasting Council, and The Little Theatre, the Rochester Teen Film Festival is a collaborative, juried media competition for youth.

WHAT:

The festival, free and open to the public, is Wednesday, August 6, at 5:30 p.m., when 11 finalists’ films will be shown on the main screen at the Little in downtown Rochester with an awards ceremony following the screening.

This year, young filmmakers have a chance to earn the Philip Seymour Hoffman Award, which honors the life and legacy of the late Academy Award-winning actor and Fairport, N.Y. native. The annual award is given to the teen who’s film is chosen by the judges as “Best of Fest” and was established in association with the Hoffman family with funds raised during The Little’s Philip Seymour Hoffman Tribute Film Series held this past winter.
