Nazareth College's Casa Italiana welcomes Sicily's Akragas Folk Dance Group on Friday, September 25

Week of events includes a live performance of traditional Sicilian music and dance at Nazareth College Arts Center!

ROCHESTER, NY (09/06/2015)(readMedia)-- The Casa Italiana at Nazareth College and the Region of Sicily are pleased to bring the Akragas Folk Dance Group from Sicily, Italy to Rochester, New York for several days of events, concluding with an evening of live music and dance at 7 p.m. Friday, September 25, in the Callahan Theater at Nazareth College Arts Center. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children, and may be purchased prior to the event at the Nazareth College Arts Center Box Office or with cash only at the door.

PIRANDELLIAN DAY; Tuesday, September 22, 2015, 5-8 p.m.; Nazareth College Arts Center Peace Theater (room A14, located in the lower level): featuring dance performances and movie clips celebrating Italian dramatist, novelist, poet and short story writer Luigi Pirandello.

CASA ITALIANA OPEN HOUSE AND RECEPTION featuring AKRAGAS FOLK DANCE GROUP; Thursday, September 24, 2015, 4-6 p.m.

LIVE PERFORMANCE by AKRAGAS FOLK DANCE GROUP; Friday, September 25, 2015, 7 p.m.; Callahan Theater at Nazareth College Arts Center: enjoy music played on traditional Sicilian instruments, and dance celebrating the region's culture.

Pirandellian Day and the Casa Italiana Open House are free and open to the public. Tickets to the live performance by Akragas Folk Dance Group are $15 for adults and $7 for children, and may be purchased prior to the event at the Nazareth College Arts Center Box Office: 585-389-2170 or online at artscenter.naz.edu. Cash-only tickets will also be sold at the door.

The Nazareth College Arts Center Box Office is located on campus, at 4245 East Avenue, Rochester, New York, 14618. Regular box office hours are Monday- Friday, 11am – 5pm.
