"Through the Center for Service-Learning they've conducted focus groups on youth curfew, provided training space, and collaborated on the cultural competency trainings relating to working effectively with the refugee population. Nazareth College has been a leader and shining example, dedicated to effecting positive change in the community."
Nazareth College's Center for Service-Learning staff works to fulfill part of Nazareth's mission, which is to provide educational opportunities that inspire dedication to the ideal of community service. They strive to facilitate the integration of service with academic study to enhance student learning, address community interests and encourage civic responsibility. The center offers students the opportunity to provide services to under-served communities and to cultivate their community engagement. The center also supports faculty who wish to integrate service-learning into the curriculum and develops sustainable community-college partnerships.
YSQC is a member organization of over 70 youth and family serving agencies from Rochester and Monroe County. The council responds to the growing needs of youth-serving organizations and the community by providing a forum for youth service providers to collaborate on new ways to do business to ensure coordination of services, maximization of resources, and quality service delivery to youth and families.
