BETHLEHEM, PA (07/19/2018) Starting this fall 2018, Northampton Community College (NCC) Monroe Campus will offer two new specialized diplomas. Adventure Course Management, which includes five hospitality core courses, is a 30 credit program, and Adventure Course Operations is a 15 credit option. Both specialized diplomas fall under the hospitality umbrella at NCC.

This worldwide industry provides local, national and international possibilities, and NCC is the first college or university to offer programs of this nature on the east coast.

"We found employees interested in a career in ropes course design, development, and operation did not have any options east of the Mississippi to further their education," said Gina Bertucci, owner of Tree Course Adventures.

The programs provide the knowledge and skills for graduates to work in the fast growing adventure/challenge course industry. Both expose students to the design, performance and inspection standards of challenge course facilities, with extensive time devoted to understanding the associated safety and risks.

If you're interested in this exciting and growing career field, come to a free information session July 31 at Monroe Campus in Keystone Hall, Room 130 A from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. To register or for any questions contact Lou-Anne Finn at lfinn@northampton.edu or call 610-861-5068.
