New Park Outreach

Victory Church Holds First City Outreach

ALBANY, NY (06/05/2015)(readMedia)-- One week after Victory Christian Church was robbed the church will hold it's first city outreach of the year.

12 years ago Victory Christian Church bought a city park to feed children on the corner of Oak St and 2nd. St. at the time the church did not have a whole lot of money so to buy it was a huge step. After buying the property the church took down all the old equipment because it was dangerous. Every summer the church feeds around 100 children a day in this park. Two years ago two of the beat police officers were talking to Pastor Charlie's daughter Chelsie and Chelsie was expresing to the officers that we needed to do the park over. THat is when The officers and Pastor Charlie got together and made it happen. Last year Pastor Charlie exavated the Park and then over the winter donated the Park to the City of Albany so the Park could be built. Pastor Charlie kept the house next door to the Park and next week will start renivating it to put in the first Ice Cream stand and homework lab in the city to help inner city children enjoy something like soft serve ice cream and get help with homework during the school year.

The Church will have three bounce houses the City Kids Smoothie truck and snow cones for this first outreach. The church is still looking to replace some of the bounce house blowers that were stolen. By next week the church is looking to do a full city wide safe summer outreach in the city of Cohoes then back to do the same in Livingston Park in Albany.

Pastor Charlie will be pleased to announce that most of the stolen items will be replaced and the city children will not lose out this summer.
