New York Army National Guard Recruiters at the Delaware County Fair
WALTON, NY (08/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Visitors to the Delaware County Fair will be able to check out the kind of engineer equipment the New York Army National Guard deploys to deal with floods like those which hit the Mohawk valley earlier this year.
The New York Army National Guard recruiting station at the fair will have a military bulldozer and other engineer equipment from the 204th Engineer Battalion on display.
New York Army National Guard Soldiers will also be on hand to talk about what serving in the Guard is like.
The fair runs from August 12to August 17.
Reporters looking for a different angle on their fair coverage are invited to stop by the Army National Guard recruiting station to chec k out the equipment and also talk to the Guard recruiters.
The New York Army National Guard, with a membership of about 10,500 Soldiers, is currently at 100 percent strength.
National Guard Recruiters, though, are continually seeking new Soldiers to fill job education opportunities available in units across the state. Throughout the summer months New York Army National Guard recruiters will be manning booths at county fairs to let the public and potential Soldiers know more about the force.
