New York Army National Guard Recruiters at the Fonda Fair

FONDA, NY (08/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Fonda Fair visitors will be able to examine an Army National Guard humvee, like those deployed in the Mohawk Valley following the flooding earlier this summer, when they stop by the New York Army National Guard recruiting station at the fair this year.

Members of the Army National Guard will also be on hand to talk about what it's like to be one of New York's Citizen Soldiers.

Reporters looking for a different angle on their fair coverage are invited to stop by the Army National Guard recruiting display at the fair to check out the physical fitness competitions and also talk to the Guard recruiters.

The New York Army National Guard, with a membership of about 10,500 Soldiers, is currently at 100 percent strength.

National Guard Recruiters, though, are continually seeking new Soldiers to fill job education opportunities available in units across the state. Throughout the summer months New York Army National Guard recruiters will be manning booths at county fairs to let the public and potential Soldiers know more about the force.
