New York Army National Guard Soldiers Leave For Mission in Qatar

LATHAM, N.Y. (04/05/2013)(readMedia)-- More than 100 Soldiers of the New York Army National Guard's 222nd Military Police Company left Camp Shelby, Mississippi for their overseas duty assignment in Qatar on Thursday, April 4.

The Soldiers will conduct security missions at U.S. military facilities there.

The unit's Soldiers, who are based in Rochester and Hornell, mobilized for deployment in February. The unit conducted post-mobilization training at Camp Shelby to prepare for their mission.

The Soldiers are expected to return to the United States in nine months.
