LATHAM, NY (08/22/2014)(readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Second Lieutenant Julio A. Soriano of Bronx, N.Y. graduated from Officer Candidate School on August 16.

He was sworn in as a 2nd Lt. by Maj. Gen. Patrick Murphy, the Adjutant General during a ceremony at Camp Smith, Peekskill, N.Y.

His new rank was pinned on by his mother Angela Delgado.

Soriano has been a member of the National Guard since 2012 and will serve as a Signal Officer assigned to the 101st Enhanced Signal Battalion, Yonkers, N.Y.
