New York Bar Foundation Announces New Fellows Judicial District Co-chair

ALBANY, NY (07/11/2016)(readMedia)-- Emily F. Franchina, chair of the Fellows of The New York Bar Foundation, announced today that Gary Fishberg of Garden City, a partner at Cullen and Dykman, LLP, will serve as the co-chair of the Fellows for the 10th Judicial District, which encompasses Nassau and Suffolk counties.

"Serving as a district chair of the Fellows is notable and significant to the continued success of The New York Bar Foundation," states Franchina."We welcome Mr. Fishberg to the distinguished assembly of chairs and look forward to his participation."

Each of the 13 Judicial Districts of the Fellows has a chair and often a co-chair, Fishberg succeeds Peter Mastaglio, also with Cullen and Dykman. "We thank Peter for his efforts and time as chair of this district," continues Franchina.

"I look forward to working with my Fellows colleagues in support of The Foundation," states Fishberg."The Foundation's grant program helps support many nonprofit organizations that provide legal services across New York State. The Foundation also works to show the philanthropic side of the law profession. I am honored to do what I can to help them continue to make an impact in these endeavors."

Fishberg is a graduate of Hofstra University and St. John's Law School, where he was a St. Thomas More Scholar and a member of the Law Review. He has concentrated his practice in the fields of management labor law and municipal law for more than 45 years. More recently, he has established himself as a mediator and arbitrator for labor and employment, commercial and personal injury matters.

Fishberg chaired the Municipal Law Section of the New York State Bar Association from 1991 to 1993 and has served on the Executive Committee of the newly renamed Local and State Government Law Section since 1978. He has chaired the Nassau County Bar Association Labor and Employment Law and Municipal Law committees. He has served as a director of the Nassau County Bar Association and represents it on the State Bar Association's House of Delegates.
