Hopewell Junction Soldier Recognized for Supply Management Excellence

LATHAM, NY (12/10/2017) New York Army National Guard Staff Sgt. Danny Martinez, a Hopewell Junction, N.Y. resident, has been recognized by the New York Army National Guard for his role in helping his Camp Smith-based unit earn the Army's Supply Excellence Award.

Martinez is a full-time member of the Army National Guard and serves as the supply sergeant for the 53rd Troop Command Headquarters and was recognized by New York Army National Guard's Adjutant General and senior logistics officials December 9 for his efforts to supervise and manage the Troop Command's unit supply programs and operations.

The Supply Excellence Award recognizes units in the Active Army, Army National Guard, and Army Reserve for their ability to meet the Army's logistics standards.

As unit supply sergeant, Martinez plays a key role in assisting the commander in meeting Army requirements, said 53rd Troop Command Chief of Staff Col. Isabel Smith.

Martinez has served in the Army National Guard for 11 years in the supply management career field. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2012 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
