New York State Rifle & Pistol Association Names Childs Environmental Conservation Officer of the Year
TROY, NY (06/17/2010)(readMedia)-- At its June 12th annual meeting the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association named Christopher Childs of Region 7 as its Environmental Conservation Officer of the Year. Officer Childs has played many roles in his long and distinguished career, including 21 years as a DEC firearms instructor (for both DEC officers and sportsmen), 11 years as Region 7's senior firearms instructor, and NYS Police Olympics competitor. In addition, Officer Childs has created training guides and courses, and served as a training consultant for numerous police agencies throughout the State. He has also promoted marksmanship and the shooting sports among police officers and their families. NYSRPA congratulates Officer Childs for his accomplishments, and wishes him continued success in his career.
