New York's College Goal Sunday Kicks Off at 17 Locations Across the State
ALBANY, NY (02/03/2009)(readMedia)-- College Goal Sunday is a nation-wide event helping students and families who need assistance in completing the online Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The New York event focuses on helping low-income, first-generation families with special emphasis on helping foster and unaccompanied youth. College Goal Sunday has assisted thousands of families gain access to higher education opportunities. The 2009 New York College Goal Sunday event is expected to draw up to 1,800 students and families across the State.
WHO: | The New York State Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC), the State agency that helps people pay for college, is co-sponsoring New York's College Goal Sunday with the New York State Financial Aid Administrators Association (NYSFAAA). Funding was made available from a grant from the Lumina Foundation. |
