New member elected to Board of Regents at Concordia University, Nebraska

SEWARD, NE (10/01/2018) At the June convention of the Nebraska District of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, elected, Concordia University, Nebraska's Board of Regents elected Dick Helms of Arapahoe, Nebraska, as a new member of the Board of Regents to serve a three-year term beginning Sept. 1, 2018.

The convention reelected Krista Barnhouse of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ryan Burger of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Eugene (Gene) Gierke of Seward, Nebraska, to serve additional three-year terms as Regents.

Dick Helms received his dual Bachelor's degree in animal science and agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and is currently self-employed, specializing in cattle and crop production and sales. He has also served on several local, state and national boards in officer positions in the American Gelbvieh Association and Nebraska Cattlemen. Helms is a member of Trinity, Arapahoe. He serves his congregation as an elder, greeter, reader, choir member, confirmation teacher and chairman of the church's radio board. He also serves on several boards and committees including the Arapahoe school board, the Gosper County Zoning Board and the TriBasin Natural Resources Board of Directors.
