Nick Arakaky Receives Final Convocation Award at Hampden-Sydney College

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- At Final Convocation on April 25, Hampden-Sydney College junior Nicholas Andrew Arakaky received the William Carrington Finch Religion Award, presented by Dr. Robert G. Hall, Elliott Professor of Religion. Established in 1997 by Lucy Bedinger Finch in honor of her husband, Dr. William Carrington Finch '29, this award is given to a junior religion major committed to a profession in the ministry or graduate theological education.

Nick is a member of the Baptist Collegiate Ministry, the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship, the Computer Science Club, and the Jongleurs (theatre arts). A religion and Spanish major, Nick graduated from James Wood High School and is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Timothy Wolford of Winchester.

A private college for men, Hampden-Sydney is ranked in the top tier of liberal arts colleges by U.S. News & World Report. The College is known for its liberal arts curriculum, the Honor Code which stresses individual and collective responsibility, and a focus on the education of young men.
