Nick Fimek of Mokena to Spend a Semester at Sea
EVANSVILLE, IN (01/05/2012)(readMedia)-- The University of Evansville is proud to announce that Mokena native Nick Fimek, a graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School, will spend the Spring 2012 semester studying abroad through Semester at Sea. Fimek, who is majoring in international studies, also received a scholarship from Semester at Sea to support his time abroad.
Semester at Sea, a study abroad program administered by the University of Virginia, takes students to 11 countries in 105 days. Destinations on the Spring 2012 voyage include Brazil, Ghana, South Africa, India, Vietnam, China, and Japan.

"By participating in Semester at Sea, Nick will gain cultural awareness, unforgettable memories, and a truly global education."
The University of Evansville is a recognized leader in study abroad. In its 2011 Open Doors report, the Institute of International Education ranked UE in the nation's top 15 master's-granting institutions for study abroad participation. Approximately half of UE graduates study abroad during their college careers, and Fimek is one of 136 UE students abroad for the Spring 2012 semester.
