Nicole Fernades Awarded the Academic Achievement Award in the Biological Sciences

Pennsville Resident Recognized for Scholastic Achievement

PHILADELPHIA, PA (06/20/2011)(readMedia)-- Carol Jean Vale, SSJ, Ph.D, president of Chestnut Hill College, awarded senior Nicole Fernades, a molecular biology major from Pennsville, NJ with the Academic Achievement Award in the Biological Sciences at Honors Convocation held on campus in May.

The Academic Achievement in the Biological Sciences Award was established in the memory of Paul Francis Kulkosky and created to significantly deter costs students incur for preparatory courses that help students to perform well on professional school admissions examinations. Courses like the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test) Preparation course are very expensive and their costs are often out of reach for students who need them to excel on their examinations.

Students are eligible to receive the award if they major in any biology-related field with an overall G.P.A. of 3.4 or higher, and take a preparation course for entry into a health-related professional field.
