Nicole Samara Gunawansa Elected to Omicron Delta Kappa at Washington and Lee University

LEXINGTON, VA (01/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Nicole Samara Gunawansa of Portsmouth, Va., a junior at Washington and Lee University, has been elected to Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership fraternity for men and women.

Gunawansa was "tapped" during the annual Founder's Day/ODK Convocation at W&L on Friday, Jan. 18.

Gunawansa, a neuroscience major, is a Questbridge Scholar and belongs to Phi Eta Sigma and Beta Beta Beta honor societies. A Bonner Scholar, she volunteers at the Rockbridge Area Free Clinic, Natural Bridge Elementary School and Maury River Middle School, and she serves on the leadership staff of Campus Kitchen. She is co-chair of international development and relief for SAIL and a member of the University Chamber Singers.

Founded at Washington and Lee in 1914, Omicron Delta Kappa recognizes superior leadership among students in various aspects of campus and community life.
