Nighttime Bridge Work to Impact Traffic on Northeastern Extension
Utility work to be performed Monday where Walton Road crosses the Turnpike at milepost A21.
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA (02/27/2010)(readMedia)-- The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is advising motorists traveling on the Northeastern Extension (I-476) between the Mid-County (Exit #20) and Lansdale (Exit #31) Interchange to be prepared for bi-directional traffic paces and periodic 15-minute stoppages Monday night, March 1 from 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. Tuesday where Walton Road (SR 3012) crosses the Turnpike in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County.
To protect utility workers and travelers, Pennsylvania State Police cruisers will significantly slow, or "pace," traffic between milepost A20-22 while Comcast crews install new cables on the overhead bridge where it crosses I-476 at milepost A21. Motorists on I-476 should anticipate up to (4) complete northbound and southbound stoppages of no more than 15 minutes between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m..
The general contractor does not anticipate any impact to local traffic on Walton Road and all scheduled utility work on the bridge and travel restrictions on I-476 will conclude by 3 a.m. Tuesday morning. The work is weather permitting and could be rescheduled.
