Nighttime Detours at Exit 8 for Ramp Closure from Route 119 to I-87 South

Off-Peak Hours Repairs Scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday Nights

ALBANY, NY (08/30/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that night time construction activity on the ramp from Route 119 to I-87 South in Elmsford will require temporary nightly detours at Exit 8 two nights in the coming week.

The detours will be in effect from 11 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, until 5 a.m. Wednesday, September 1; and again from 11 p.m., Wednesday, September 1, until 5 a.m., Thursday, September 2.

Traffic that usually enters I-87 South from Route 119 will be detoured to Exit 9 in Tarrytown via I-87 North. Posted signs will be in place to advise motorists of the detour route.

Variable Message Signs will be activated to alert motorists to the detours.

The Thruway Authority appreciates motorists' patience during these necessary repairs.
