BATAVIA, NY (07/26/2016)(readMedia)-- Nine home games will highlight the 2016 GCC women's soccer schedule this fall, including a rematch of last year's Region III Semifinals against Tompkins-Cortland CC in early September.

Genesee opens up at the Coliseum Kickoff Classic at Herkimer College and will play Nassau CC on Aug. 27 and Fashion Institute of Technology on Aug. 28.

The Cougars are at Mohawk Valley CC on Sept. 3 before back-to-back home games against Corning CC (Sept. 7) and Tompkins-Cortland CC (Sept. 10). The Panthers defeated Genesee in the regional semifinals, putting an end to the 2015 season.

GCC will defend its conference title from 2015 and play its first WNYAC match at Niagara County CC on Sept. 14 before hosting SUNY Adirondack on Sept. 18. A trip to Cayuga CC on Sept. 21 will precede two straight home games against Jefferson CC (Sept. 24) and Monroe CC (Sept. 27), and the Cougars will end the month on the road at Erie CC on Sept. 29.

October will begin with a trip to Jamestown CC on the 5th before a three-game homestand against Onondaga CC (Oct. 8), Finger Lakes CC (Oct. 12) and Herkimer College (Oct. 15). The Cougars will travel to Mercyhurst North East on Oct. 18 and end the regular season at home against SUNY Broome CC on Oct. 22.

The Region III playoffs will start on Oct. 25 with a sub-regional date at a location and time to be determined and the regional finals will take place at Tompkins-Cortland CC on Oct. 29.

Ocean County College (NJ) will host the NJCAA National Championships, scheduled for Nov. 10-13.

Genesee played to an 11-6 record in 2015 and advanced to the regional semifinals. The Cougars were ranked as high as No. 4 in the NJCAA National Poll last season.
