Nine from Golden Bear Lacrosse Earn 2026 IWLCA Honor Roll Status
Kutztown University women's lacrosse received recognition as an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association for 2026, while nine Golden Bears earned a spot on the honor roll.
Brynn Axe (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield), Marisa Bragg (Ringoes, N.J./Hunterdon Central), Rowan Hall (Sloatsburg, N.Y./Suffern), Lauren LaMorte (West Islip, N.Y./West Islip), Alexis Plesic (Hanover, Pa./South Western), Maddie Wagner (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township), Madison Wenner (Marmora, N.J./Ocean City), Nicole Yerys (Huntington, N.Y./Walt Whitman) and Katie Yocum (Hanover, Pa./South Western) all appeared on the list. To be eligible for the honor roll, student-athletes must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have earned a cumulative academic GPA of 3.50 or greater.
For teams to be considered an Academic Honor Squad, they must have posted at least a 3.2 GPA or higher as a group for the academic year.
Kutztown completed its best season in program history a little over two months ago. KU was voted 11th in the final IWLCA national poll, the highest ranking to the conclusion of a season for the Maroon and Gold.
The Golden Bears (16-7 overall) made their first appearance in the NCAA DII quarterfinals earlier this month after capturing the first two national tournament wins in program history with their 12-8 first round victory over Wingate (May 7) and 9-6 second round triumph over top-seeded and previously unbeaten Slippery Rock (May 9). KU finished as PSAC runners-up for the second time in the last three years and qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last four seasons. The Golden Bears' 16 wins are a new program single-season record, surpassing the former record of 15 set in 2024 (15-6).
