About E3

Emerson College's E3 program has been led, since its inception, by faculty member Karl Baehr who was named by Fortune Magazine as one of the nation's top professors of entrepreneurial studies. Sadly, Baehr passed away unexpectedly last fall, leaving behind his dedicated students and colleagues to continue his work to foster the rise of entrepreneurial talent at the College.

Now in its ninth year, the E3 program is a yearlong immersion in crafting a new business venture; at the conference the student entrepreneurs compete for a combined $20,000 in cash and prizes to get their companies started. More than 150 ventures have been created in Emerson's yearlong, immersive experience and more than 30 percent of those have been realized into businesses. According to the Princeton Review, that is 25 percent more than other entrepreneurial programs. Several of the current students are already in business and have captured significant media attention.
