NEW YORK, NY (10/29/2014)(readMedia)-- October 29, 2014 -- The Vote No on Prop 1 campaign is available to speak to media (radio and television stations across the state) about the upcoming statewide referendum on the ballot November 4th.

Prop 1 is a controversial referendum on a constitutional amendment revising redistricting across New York. If passed, the amendment will create a new system for drawing legislative lines in the state that will lock partisan political gamesmanship into our state electoral maps for decades to come. Editorial Boards across the state agree that this proposal is nothing more than a power play by party leaders in Albany under the guise of reform. The Vote No on Prop 1 position is supported by elected officials such as Congressman Hakeem Jeffries, Congressman Jerrold Nadler and Congresswoman Nita Lowey, State Senators Liz Kruger and Cecilia Tkaczyk, and numerous local officials. The No position is also supported by NAACP, LatinoJustice, Make the Road NY, Citizen Action, NY Communities for Change, DC 37, CWA local 1180, the Partnership for the Public Good, and the MinKwon Center for Community Action, along with many other organizations.
