Nokomis Airman achieves top enlisted rank

SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, IL (01/26/2017)(readMedia)-- Amanda G. Stewart of Nokomis, Illinois, was promoted to the rank of chief master sergeant during a promotion ceremony at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois, Jan. 8.

Stewart enlisted in the Illinois Air National Guard in April 1990 as a material storage and distribution specialist at the 183rd Fighter Wing in Springfield, Illinois. In February 1994, she was selected for a full-time Illinois Air National Guard position as a tools and parts attendant in Springfield, Illinois.

Stewart deployed in April 2002 to Bahrain and in February 2006 to Qatar in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

In July 2008, Stewart transferred to the 126th Air Refueling Wing at Scott Air Force Base.

Stewart will now serve as the Supply Chain Management Squadron Superintendent for the 126th Air Refueling Wing at Scott Air Force Base.
