Noodle Creations Win State Fair Honors
DES MOINES, IA (09/17/2024) (readMedia)-- Sharon Lesan of Ankeny won first place and a $100 gift card in the Mrs. Bonser's Beef & Noodles competition judged Friday, August 16, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.
Cindy Streff of Urbandale won second place and a $50 gift card, and Samantha Streff of Ankeny claimed third place and a $25 gift card.
Contestants were challenged to create an award-winning dish using Mrs. Bonser's Beef Flavored Noodles as the key ingredient.
Entries were judged on taste.
The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 140 divisions, 726 classes and nearly 6,400 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
