North Country to Host Inaugural Global Supply Chain Management Conference
PLATTSBURGH, NY (02/17/2009)(readMedia)-- A global conference is set to take place on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus May 19-21. The inaugural Global Supply Chain Management Conference will bring together supply chain management executives and senior managers from within the United States and abroad.
In what is expected to become an annual event, the conference will expose leaders to current trends, analyses and state-of-the-art solutions that will benefit their enterprises. It will feature internationally recognized speakers discussing green, sustainable supply chain management; transportation security; cross-border compliance; regulatory issues; best practices; and the future of supply chain management in general.
Speakers will include a former deputy commissioner from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an executive director from the Department of Homeland Security, the president and CEO of the Port of Montreal and more.
"The Quebec-New York Corridor is quickly emerging as one of North America's great logistical centers," stated Garry Douglas, president and CEO of the Plattsburgh-North Country Chamber of Commerce. "It is only right that it become the host of what will be one of the best supply chain management conferences."
