Northborough, Mass. Native Carolyn Mukai Given IWLCA All-West Region Honors
Scholar-Athlete Mukai Also Earns a Spot on the 2012 Dean's List

WHITTER, CA (07/09/2012)(readMedia)-- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) named Whittier College Junior Carolyn Mukai an All-West Region first-team selection for the second straight year.
In addition, the Northborough, Mass., native earned 1st Team honors from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), making her a three time 1st Team All-SCIAC Honoree.
This season Mukai served as one of the top all-around players all year as she accumulated a team high 52 goals on 103 shots for a 51% shot percentage, 29 assists, 34 caused turnovers, 54 ground balls and 88 draw controls while playing in and starting 16 games.
In three seasons with the Whittier College Poets, Mukai has combined for 173 goals and 85 assists for 258 points. A very impressive collegiate career for her so far.
A consummate achiever, she was also named to the Spring 2012 Deans List. Undergraduate student are awarded Dean's List honors if he or she earns a 3.70 grade point average (GPA) while completing a full-time course load (12 units) in the fall and spring terms.
