Northbrook resident Patrick Magner receives Dominican's Outstanding Service Leadership Award

RIVER FOREST, IL (05/03/2011)(readMedia)-- Patrick Magner, a resident of Northbrook, recently received the Outstanding Service Leadership Award from Dominican University for his extraordinary service on campus and in the larger community.

Magner has been involved with Hilda's Place Soup Kitchen in Evanston. He has spent two spring break trips on the Gulf Coast with Hurricane Katrina relief organizations, and he was a volunteer for AmeriCorps, City Year of Service. He has also volunteered for Faith and Fellowship in Oak Park and the Catholic Worker community in Kansas City, MO. He has spent seven summers volunteering with Habitat for Humanity. On campus, Magner is a resident assistant, a psychology tutor, and a member of Psi Chi. He assists in the coordination and leadership of Breaking Open, a weekly Bible Study and small faith group.
